Who
The target audience for this program is Black, Indigenous, women of colour, and immigrant entrepreneurs who are in early stages of their businesses (i.e. the ideation stage). It aims to provide support and resources tailored specifically to the unique challenges and experiences faced by these groups in the entrepreneurial landscape.
Eligibility
BIPOC women entrepreneurs in the early stages of building their business. This includes, but is not limited to, women with disabilities; Indigenous women; women in rural or remote regions; recent immigrants; visible minority women; women who identify as 2sLGBTQIA+; and women from Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs). Ideally, they are a co-founder or co-owner leading a business in Canada or a key decision-maker in their business or industry.
No prior experience is required.
About this course
But what exactly is “The Success Mindset” course?
This 6-week program is a comprehensive and interactive online course that focuses on developing a positive and growth-oriented mindset. Our expert facilitators will guide participants through various topics such as self-awareness, self-confidence, goal-setting, and overcoming fear and self-doubt. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, and group discussions, participants will gain valuable insights and practical skills to shift their mindset and achieve their goals.
One of the unique aspects of this course is that it is specifically tailored for Black, Indigenous and Women of Color and immigrant women. Our facilitators understand the cultural and societal pressures and biases that these women face, and the course curriculum reflects that. We also provide a safe and inclusive space for these women to share their experiences and support each other in their journey towards success.
This comprehensive course is designed specifically for entrepreneurs in the ideation phase. This program will provide essential foundations needed to launch a business and equip the participants with critical tools to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape successfully.
French speakers will have access to french modules, audio and past videos through the Better Practice app.
What to expect
Twelve live virtual facilitated learning sessions with a community of self-identified women entrepreneurs.
Each live session is 1 hour on Tuesdays & 1.5 hours on Saturdays. (English cohort)
The program is delivered in English. An online workbook and slides will be available after each session. French support is available upon request. (English cohort)
A self-directed peer accountability group will take place during the program.
Access to other Start Now Incubator activities, virtual connector events, and in-person events and activities.

A detailed Business Model Canvas to clearly articulate their business model.
A tailored brand kit that captures their unique identity and voice.

Access to executive coaching sessions and mentoring to support their entrepreneurial journeys.

Learn how to articulate business goals and values, setting a solid foundation for their entrepreneurial journey.
Understand how to map out their business model, identifying key components such as value propositions, customer segments, and revenue streams.
Create a Compelling Brand Kit: Discover the elements of effective branding, including logo design, colour schemes, and messaging to help differentiate their business in the marketplace.
Define their Customer and Company Personas: Learn to identify and understand their target audience, ensuring that their product or service resonates with potential customers.
Harness creative thinking techniques to brainstorm and refine their business ideas, transforming concepts into viable solutions.
Receive Tailored Executive Coaching: Engage in one-on-one sessions with experienced coaches, who will offer personalized feedback, support, and guidance tailored to their specific entrepreneurial challenges.
Participate in Business Mentoring Workshops: Collaborate with seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts in workshops designed to provide insights, strategies, and real-world knowledge that they can apply to their venture.
